Hello. About 18 months ago my fan died in my laptop, and i would get the fail to start blue screen telling me my fan was not working, but i could still continue to use the laptop. Having priced the fan I would need from hp, and the realization that there was no way i would ever pay for any of their over priced parts, i decided to buy a cooling mat, but while it sort of worked, it really was not good enough perhaps because it was some cheap polaroid cooler. Anyway I have been looking at buying a side clamp cooler from 0polar and wondering would this even make any difference at all? I know that it is supposed to pull the air out, and the fan is on the left hand top side quite close to a usb port. without buying a new fan, is there anyway to turn off that warning message or am i stuck with it, and would i get decent cooling with a usb side clamp exhaust air puller? or should i get both a decent cooler (i need it cheap dont have a lot of money) and a side clamp usb ?
