HP EliteDisplay for Gaming

Guys, recently i have got a G1 GTX 970. and now i want to buy a monitor. now the problem is the budget. i found that HP Elite Display E231i is very much on my budget. is this monitor good enough for gaming ? i have also found that ASUS VX229H is also in my budget range but if i chose ASUS, i have to sacrifice 1" .... so guys, please help me ..... is the HP Elite Display E231i is good for gaming ???

For gaming, there are only a few factors to look at on monitors. The first is Refresh rate. For gaming, you generally want a monitor that has a refresh rate of atleast 60hz, which means the monitor is displaying at 60 fps. You also want a very low response time for the monitor. Ideally this would be under 5ms. The HP display has an 8ms response time and a 60hz refresh rate. The Asus one also has a refresh rate of 60hz, but it's response time is only 5ms. This isn't as important for gaming, but it can make some games more pristine is the contrast ratio. The Asus has a much, much higher contrast ratio alonwing for much crisper images. In terms of gaming performance, the Asus will be much better. If you really want that extra...
