Want to install new HHD in my wife's computer along with fresh copy of Windows 10 via USB. Placed in case and used Disk Manager to format drive. Unplugged old HHD and with new HHD plugged tried to boot with USB disk. System wouldn't allow it, even though I had looked to ensure the USB was plugged in and readable. Tried to Get into HP BIOS by both Hot and cold boot methods. When the screen appears it locks up, doesn't allow me to go to BIOS or Boot Order, just allows me to exit. Can I some how get rid of all the HP stuff; UEFI/BIOS so that I have a HP less computer. Seems all the problems are created by HP. Don't want to throw the motherboard away and start over. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Usually the option to boot from another device is presented on the screen at the bottom at the same time as the option to enter the bios is.

Unfortunately the only way to get rid of the HP bios is to get rid of the HP motherboard...
Have you tried entering the bios without the HDD or USB disk installed?
