Question HP laptop - - - adding 16GB RAM to existing 8GB ?

Laptop: HP Pavilion 15-cu1004tx

I have Pavilion 15-cu1004tx. I have samsung 8gb 2666mhz ram installed already. I want to add 16gb 2666mhz ram in 2nd slot.
16gb part no is- M47A2K43CB1-CTD. 8gb is- M47A1K43CB1-CTD.
So, will it create compatibility issues? Like what problems are we talking abt specifically that can happen running both these rams?


Which brands of ram will my laptop support or will be better? Any suggestions. Corsair, Samsung, HP, PNY, teamgroup etc? & share link of preferable ram.

I checked amazon & newegg. Which site would be reasonable? amazon, newegg, microcenter.
These are my laptop config.

I have added cpu z detailed report of my PC. So, do you think 2666mhz ram would be good option? My cpu downgrade will downgrade 2400 mhz to 2133mhz right? SO better to take 2666mhz ram.

I have seen using different brand ram can cause issues with performance, is it true?

I also cant use my AMD dedicated graphics card which came preinstalled with my laptop. How can I turn it on? Even when gaming or anything I tried, it doesnt turn on.

16gb part no is- M47A2K43CB1-CTD. 8gb is- M47A1K43CB1-CTD.
Please don't mix and match sticks of ram. It's akin to wearing two different sized clown shoes, they only help to make you look silly. Work with two identical sticks of ram.

As for your ram, you need to look for a 2x 8(or 2x 16GB)GB DDR4-2400Mhz 1.35v ram SO-DIMM kit by either G.Skill, Corsair, Crucial or Klevv. What sort of a budget have you set aside for your ram purchase?

In the interim period, you should think about updating the BIOS for your laptop if there are any pending.

But the 16gb ram I'm planning to upgrade to & the 8gb ram I currently have, both are Samsung's. Will mixing these 2 still cause problem? Both have same timing, but CAS is different, but the datasheet says both are similar & supports each other.

I havent set budget, but within 30$. & shouldnt I get 1.2v ram? Will 1.35 v ram give me better performance?

Is corsair, g.skill has more powerful ram than Samsung? Whats the difference ?

It very well might cause problems.

RAM is sold as a set for a reason. What is in the box has been tested to work together.

Buy a single set of however much RAM you want or need.
