HP officejet 5510 troubleshooting

I have an officejet 5510 dating back about 7 years. Not the photosmart. Here is a picture of my printer and it uses 2 cartridges

It's been working just fine but after a recent power loss, I get this error on startup
Open door. clear carriage jam, and then press OK.
Clear print cartridge access door


When I open the access door, the cartridges don't come to the center like they used to before. I have to pull them into the center from the right side. Then I took the cartridges and cleaned them up but the error continues. When the printer boots up, I can see the cartridges move from left to right so that lever is working fine

Is there anything else I should be doing to fix this?

sounds like the bar on which the cartridge moves is stuck/dirty or the engine that moves it was affected by the power surge... nothing you can fix yourself i think you need to get it to a repair shop, sorry...
