HP OfficeJet Pro X476dw MFP Third party ink cartridges - help needed

Hello,

I have a HP Officejet Pro X476dw MFP given by a company. With the printer came a third party ink cartridge 970XL but the printer doesn't recognise it.

I also heard that if I can get the printer an older driver it would be able to recognise it, but I don;t think this information is correct.

If anyone knows how to make this printer accept third party ink cartridges, please answer the thread. Thank you in advance.

I think you were told older BIOS not software, but you can find HP older bios on http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5312602
as for 3rd party 970xl, what is the brand name, I know Kingjet 970xl will work with older and newer BIOS and amazone sell them something to consider
