I have been hearing this noise for quite a while now, getting a bit worse lately. I don't know if it is the HDD or the Fan (which has issues), I suppose its from the HDD but can never be sure.

I am using an OMEN HP - 15-ce001ne
Motherboard ID : 838F

CrystalDisk shows that health is Good, the HDD is HGST hts7210a9e630.

Here is the link for the mp3 file: HP Omen Laptop Noise
Also the noise is always the same but sometimes faster/slower, sometimes nothing at all (rarely).

One other question, how do I check the fan model in order to buy a new one online (sadly I live in France and there aren't any Hardware repair companies here, only a few who are really bad, and no official HP store either).

The fan is probably half dead (I get System Fan 90b failure when I turn the pc on), but opening up my laptop is very complicated, I've done it once and don't wanna do it again since I don't have the right equipment.

Thank you in advance!

For work we have 2 old HP 250's. Fans went bad in both after 5-6 years. Founds replacements online, decided to upgrade to SSD's & double the ram on both.

Can't say how difficult it will be to replace your fan but I took my time & was very careful with ribbon cables, took lots of pics... Everything worked on both, had no issues, which is rare for me. The SSD REALLY sped up the computer, the CPU is still terrible but it boots really fast compared to the 1 minute it took before.

New fans worked well and are still working well. The bearings went out causing buzzing and rattling. I tried cleaning them, but it was just worn out.

FYI DO NOT try cleaning those little PC fans with an air compressor.... I may have blown off most of the blades on one :)

IF you REALLY don't want to do it yourself I'm sure there are plenty of competent PC repair shops nearby who can handle that job.
