Question hp omen x 25 monitor stuck at 60 Hz

Hello, I recently purchased a HP omen x 25 monitor which is rated at 240 Hz. However, I cant find the option to change the display to run at 240 Hz in windows (it only shows 55,56,59,60 as the options). These are the solutions I have tried
Downloading drivers from HP's website
updating my GPU drivers
updating windows
borrowed a friend's 144hz monitor to see if my HDMI cable was the issue but the cable supports 144hz.

What resolution are you using? HDMI supports 240hz at 1080p 144hz at 1440p and 60hz at 4k.

If I recall correctly, you have to change the refresh rate in osd. Also, most monitor will only hit the highest refresh rates using the DP cable....

Am at 1080p. maybe omen monitor hdmi ports are capped at 60 Hz are they?

if have looked at the osd menu but there are no options to change refresh rate only response time. am going to try dp have to buy the cable first. but hdmi does support high refresh rate no?

So I looked at your monitor web page, unfortunately you are a victim of false advertising. The resolution is 1080p but at refresh rate of 60hz. 240 hz is supported at lower resolutions.

According to the manual(page 23) for 1080p@100Hz-240Hz you need to use Displayport.
