I have this laptop off my mum because its not working. When its plugged in the light by the charger port is on solid but it wont fire up at all. At the bottom of the keyboard the power light will come on, the disk light wont and the power light (little lighting bolt) just flashes. When I take the battery out none of the lights turn on and still no life. Do you think there's anyway around it to try get some life back into it? I've tried reading up and using forums but I'm not getting any there. Thank you for your time!

Probably a dead motherboard or video chip. The DV6 models were well known for dying due to one of those issues.
