HP Pavilion Dv7Laptop Black screen

My computer monitor won't turn on and the caps lock button blinks continuously. It doesn't stop after a certain amount of blinks. How can I solve this other than taking it to the store?

I think you're hosed. Taking it to a store might be your only option. Avoid Best Buy, the Geek Squad sucks.

if the caps lock flashing is in a pattern and is the HP equivalent of system beeps, then you can look if that gives you and us a clue.
