I got this old desktop from a friend, and thought I'd upgrade the RAM so that I could, you know, run programs. It's a 64 bit system, and I double checked that it has the OEM motherboard. These are the specs direct from the manufacturer:

Memory upgrade information:
Four DDR3 DIMM (240-pin) sockets
Supports 2 GB DDR3 DIMMs
Supports dual channel memory architecture
Supported speeds:
PC3-8500 @ 1066 MHz
PC3-6400 @ 800 MHz
Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered
Supports up to 8 GB on 64-bit PCs
Supports up to 4 GB* on 32-bit PCs

I think I may have mixed up my PC3 numbers and my DDR3 numbers, because I ended up purchasing 8GB (4 sticks) of this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=1WK-0046-00061

Specs are: MICRON 2GB DESKTOP DIMM DDR3 PC10600(1333) UNBUF 1.5v 1RX8 240P 256MX64 256mX8 CL9 8k MT8JTF25664AZ-1G4D1

The computer just beeps when I try to boot it with these in any combination/position. So, my question is twofold:
-Is there any kind of BIOS update or anything that could make these work?
-If not, could you confirm that I've correctly identified the problem so I don't make the same mistake again?

Thank you!
