HP Pavilion G7 Won't Turn on

I recently got a Laptop from a friend that doesnt turn on just curious where to start. i let it charge over night but when you hit the power button nothing happens at all no lights no fan noise etc, i tried taking the battery out and unplugging the cord and trying to power it up ( about a minute) and no luck plugged the cord back in and still nothing. anyone have a guess of where to begin?

When you charge the laptop, is there any light on the power adapter? Normally when the power adapter is used, after a while it becomes warm. If not, the power adapter needs to be replaced. If possible try to check with a different power adapter.
