HP Pavilion Still Crashes after adding RAM. Windows XP

Hello,
My HP Pavilion Media center which is about 4 years old still crashes after I added more RAM. The Total Ram that it can take is 4GB which is actually only 3.5 GB because It is a 32 bit system. What can be the other causes of my computer Crashing?

Corrupted files, OS, bad CMOS, to name a few

I have Norton 360 that does all the registry Cleaning,Spyware, etc. I also Installed a Free version of 360 Amigo that i saw good online reviews about on cnet.com . But it still crashes. Other then getting a new computer I don't know what else i could do to get it to stop crashing.

Well, if you have your Windows CD you can do a repair install.

Or, if you can get into safe mode, run from CMD prompt: sfc /scannow.

Hopefully you installed the correct matching RAM ?

Should really start from the beginnig of the issue. Why was it crashing? Error messages? What did you do before the RAM upgrade, etc...

The RAM is correct. Had a computer put it in for free.

Not resolved yet. Had a Computer Guy put in the correct RAM. This computer didn't come with a CD. I just got this computer about a month before the VISTA Version came out. Never bothered to get VISTA. I was told that VISTA was not that great.
