Hi,

I recently got a HP Laptop from eBay (HP Pavilion x360 11-k154sa) and looking through the official HP document that lists what Pen Support is available, they list "HP Pavilion x360 11-k1xx" so I thought surely that includes my device? So I bought one of the pens (from eBay again) here is a link to the one I bought (since the seller has a few) eBay Link to Active Stylus, and the model is "K8P73AA" which is listed as a compatible pen for my device, but it doesn't work, I have the battery in and it does nothing, I have the latest Windows 10, 1909 build and all the drivers and I can't get it to connect, so my question is, am I completely missing something here? Is my device not actually compatible with pens? Or is the pen that I bought not meant to work with my device, I even went as far as disassembling the device and saw (from looking at the service manual, online at the replacement screen and by physical inspection of the cables) that it's a screen + digitizer, so this is why I'm confused, sorry if this post appears to look or sound like a rant, I'm just confused and kind of frustrated that I can't figure out, either what I'm missing, or what pen I'm actually supposed to use, any advice would be great.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

Go To Settings, System, on the left pane click About.
What does it says next to Pen and Touch on the right pane?

Go to Device Manager and expand Human Interface Devices.
Do you see HID-compliant pen listed?

Go To Settings, Devices on the left pane click Pen & Windows Ink.
Under Windows Ink Work, do you see a Pen shortcuts?
There should be several drop-down menus if your laptop screen supports an active stylus.

Well that's disappointing to learn, but I think what's worse, is why would they mention the model number? If it doesn't support an active stylus, why would they say that model? The main reason was because I was hoping to get palm rejection and write notes on it, but from what I'm seeing, that doesn't seem possible now.

Make sure the battery was installed correctly.
To activate the pen, press the tip of the pen against the screen.

Yep, that's what I did, and it doesn't seem like it is supported, since next to Pen and Touch, it said, Touch-Screen with 10 point touch mode (or something along those lines) and no, I didn't see "HID-compliant pen"
