My laptop is HP Probook 450G8, equipped with Win10, manufactured in Sept. 2021, purchased in Nov. 2021.
Recently, I noticed a quick battery drain after entering S5 (Soft Off) state. After charging battery to 100%, I turned off my laptop and left it in S5 state for 2 weeks. When I turned it on again, it showed battery level at 57%.
To my knowledge, there is nothing needing power supply from the rechargeable battery in S5 state, maybe except power button. So I think that the 43% battery drain is self discharge, which is too fast to acceptable.
Is 43% discharge normal after 2 weeks of non-use? Or is there some hardware error?
What if I disassemble my laptop and leave the battery alone? Will the drain rate be still close to 43% every 2 weeks?
By the way, I've noticed battery drain in S5 state when just purchasing it. But I forget the specific drain rate and only remember that it's faster than 10% per week.
