I have an Hp slimline Pavillion s5-1554 which I replaced the motherboard last year had the same thing happen again. Screen is black and stuck. guy at geek squad said it's the motherboard. is there a compatible motherboard for it other than the one that originally comes in it?

Do you add any new hardware recently? or Does that happen during the daily usage?

I would be surprised if it is the motherboard again.

I assume you are using the onboard graphics card, can you try a different port?
