Im considering upgrading my psu in my z210, but it uses a non standard 18 pin rather than a 20/24 pin. It is also limted to 400w as far as i can tell. Now i know i'll need to drill new holes for a larger psu, not a big deal. but i can't find a 20/24 pin adapter that is compatible with the z210. When searching for one, i only find ones that are "not compatible with z210" am i on a wild goose chase or is there one out there that will work for my particular system? It is the mini tower version if that helps.

From what I can see on that model, it has a normal ATX size power supply so you don't need to drill anything and there should be adapters on ebay for the motherboard connector, if not then just keep the same PSU or move the components into a different motherboard with standard connections. You will need a motherboard, case and power supply but can keep RAM, CPU and hard drive (although you would need to re-install Windows).

Why are you trying to upgrade the power supply, getting a gaming video card? You can probably put in one that does not need much power since the power supply looks to be a decent quality one and has a 6 pin PCIe power cable. nVidia 1050 Ti should be good, although the older system may have issues running newer video cards. You may want to think about sticking to older gen like a 750 Ti.

It uses an 18 pin rather than 20/24 pin I was planning on a 1070 in it, though i settled on a 1060. I also have a spare psu that i tried mounting and the holes don't quite line up. I tried finding an adapter like this one, but it specifically states that it does not work with the z210. https://www.amazon.com/COMeap-Power...=z210+adapter&qid=1565392933&s=gateway&sr=8-1
