Hey.

I was wondering if a HP Z230 would be decent for gaming at 1080p. These are the specs:

Intel Xeon E3 - 1225v3
16 GB DDR3 RAM 1600mhz
128GB SSD
NVIDIA Quadro K2200

I also want to know if it's possible upgrade the GPU to a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 TI since there's a 6 pin cable.

Thanks!

Solution
The E-1225v3 is in between the power of the i5-4570 and the I5-4790K (see image below)
So it has plenty of power to gave with quad core.
since you have the tower edition, according to : https://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04111362 on page 5 it comes;
400 watts wide-ranging, active Power Factor Correction, 92% Efficient 320W Standard Efficiency wide-ranging, active PFC Power Supply option available in some countries.
I see no issues to using that video card.

So do you think this PC will be fine for gaming? After placing the GTX 1050 TI of course.

After researching further the most likely motherboard you have in your system is an Intel 698114-001 (look for white sticker on main board between Slots for your ram, you should find a label that looks like this... top left is the board number. (see image below), not a bad board, better than having a Foxconn.
its a solid board for a workstation, don't expect to overclock it at all. I think it will be a Good medium graphics gaming box yes
