HP2009f for gaming

As the title states, I've been using the 2009f for a very long time and it's been doing great.

However, I've been planning on building a new PC (with a GTX 1080 and Asrock Z370 Pro 4 and an i5 8400) so I'm wondering if I need to get a new monitor or is my current one still capable?

You won't NEED a new monitor. However, the 2009f is only 900p, so the GTX 1080 will be commonly underutilized. It would be best to upgrade to a 1440p or 1080p 144hz monitor if you want to get the most out of your graphics card.
