Yes they are very good but overpriced imo.
It will be a marked improvement over onboard but what are your intended uses for it?
I may be able to direct you to something else if you were more specific.
Asus and Auzentech make fine cards as well.

compare a creative card to a ASUS or AUZENTECH, now taking in mind the price, compare every single features aprart from EAX, and stuff like CMSS cos they are irrelevant, ASUS and AUZENTECH wins cos of there quality.
