ht3.0 ddr3 compatible with amd ryzen 1300x?

Right now I have a AMD fx 6300, would you recommend me getting the upgrade from that (fx 8300 I think) or an Intel Pentium G4600, is the intel even compatible? Because the intel is similar to the ryzen (I'm looking for a cheep replacement cpu) but is better than the fx 8300 and I know the fx will work properly

For keeping your current motherboard, your only upgrade option would be within the AMD AM3+ socket processors, otherwise you need to buy a new motherboard. If your current motherboard can handle a 125W processor then the FX-8350 is your best upgrade option; if it isn't that featured (a lot aren't) then the FX-8300 is your best option.

Ignore the FX 9xxx series processors (I think it's just the 9590, but there might be another one I'm forgetting), those are a waste of money, have a small motherboard compatibility list, and come with issues that just don't make the investment worth the minimal performance improvement over the 8350.

the best your going to get out of a AM3+ is a 8350 or 8370 heavily overclocked assuming you have a decent 990FX board. Your not going to gain all that much moving from a 6300 overclocked to a 8350 overclocked, you would see a improvement just nothing drastic. On the gaming side the cheapest way to go would be wait for the budget intel line and grab a Pentium 5000 series for around $70-$80 and a budget board when they launch.

Intel Pentium Gold G5400 $70
B360 or H360 budget board for around $70
8Gigs 2400 DDR4 $84
$224
