HTC Vive Build

I'm interested in upgrading my build so I could run VR using the Vive. My current build is as follows.

i5 4670k @ 4Ghz
GTX 760
ASRock Z97 Pro4 (?)
8 GB RAM
256 GB SSD
1 TB HDD

I know I'll need to upgrade the GPU, but is there anything else I'll need to upgrade? Should I just do a new build completely?

Also, what sort of performance can I expect?

Probably only need to upgrade the video card. On the Steam VR performance test my GTX 980 says all very high settings.

Like said, probably just GPU. Depending on your budget/case setup I'd say (from cheapest to most expensive):
R9 390
R9 390X/980
R9 Fury
980ti/Fury X

Why the AMD cards over a NVIDIA one?

I'm not saying AMD over Nvidia, I'm positioning the pairs where they are performance wise. The 390 doesn't have a competitor when you get down to it, in most new benchmarks for DX12/VR, the 390X and 980 are pretty equal, the Fury has no direct competitor unless you count the 980ti which it can catch up to in select titles, and the Fury X and 980ti are equal, though the Fury X is a little less convenient for some, with it's radiator.
