I am desperatly trying to access the LAN of a phenoix Mgaurd router using a web browser because I need to change its WAN address from 172.16.2.49 to 192.168.1.4 ;

To access the MGaurd setting you have to use the address 10.208.0.25 .

OBviusly using a standard laptop the above address is "out of range" for the laptop to communicate there I have to in "internet settings" enter manually the protocol IP address to something like;

IP: 10.208.0.29
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.240

This then allows me to PING and get a REPLY from 10.208.0.25.

I am now ready to open up a web browser and type in the address bar: https://10.208.0.25 but nothing loads up. I am 100% certain it is trying to do something with that address but something is blocking it.
The reason I am sure it is trying to connect is by looking at the green load up bar at the bottom of the page. If I type in address's that don't exist in the net work and then compare that to how the bar trys to load up with 10.208.0.25

The firewall is off. Proxy box is unchecked. No one thus far has been able to help me in the real world therefore I joined this forum to get your guys help. Thank you.

Some routers can be configured to limit access to specific devices for admin changes. I suspect yours is one of them.

Are your the authorized admin for this router? As this is not a typical consumer device, I assume you have a support agreement with the company. Have you consulted them for assistance?

We have consulted them for advice but they are not much help. THe machine is brand new.
They said you only enter a password once after you connect.

Even the pheonix mgaurd router company in UK were not helping. They just said, contact manufacuter who say it's a laptop / network problem.

On a side note what I have noticed when plugging a computer up to a standard UK router, if you are to manually assign a ip addres and subnet mask to a laptop, that you cannot access the world wide web. You must also type in the default gateway into laptop of that specific router for you to gain access to the world wide web.

I could do with knowing in the internet protocol setting where you assign the new ip adress for the laptop so it fits into the range‹ there is a box below for subnet mask.

I need to know that do you need to type in also the default gateway of the mguard into the laptop protocol box.

Im just throwing this here, but try to reset the modem not just a power plug but reset you should see it on the back of the router. That way everything goes clean it will detect your home devices and those will be working just fine. 🤞🙉💯
