I’m about to be purchasing a hue plus and need some help. My pay doesn’t have a 4 pin molex plug I was wondering could I buy a sata to molex adapter and plug it in that way ? I’m still new to this whole pc thing any help / advice would be appreciated. My psu is a Corsair cx450m. Thank you ..

you have to plug it into your psu. you can get these things
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA50M2RC6977&cm_re=molex_to_sata_power-_-9SIA50M2RC6977-_-Product
but your psu should have come with a molex lead.

you also have to plug the hue+ into a usb header on your motherboard, so you might have to get a hub as well depending how many usb headers you have and how many you are using. you have to make sure this works with nzxt products which is annoying because not all hubs do.

you can get one of those and plug it into a spare sata power lead from your psu and it will have power. making it work requires a usb header on the motherboard and the CAM software (and of course all the fans, led strips etc)

yeah no worries, we all were once.
go on youtube and look for "hue+ review" and watch a few videos.
TBH hue+ is very expensive and quite tempramental so maybe have a look at something like this to pimp your case?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tingkam-18leds-Controller-Desktop-Computer/dp/B01HXORJZ4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1513419224&sr=8-4&keywords=rgb+CASE+LIGHTS

Thats got a sata power plug, you just plug it in and use the remote control to change the colours. you can put the sensor inside your case by the window and just point the remote at it. I've got one in another PC and it works rreally well.
