Hello! I just bought (3 days ago) an HP Omen X laptop with the i7 7700HQ processor...
The machine performs brilliantly but Im concerned with the temperatures Im seeing.
In fact, when I stress test in prime95, these are the temps I see:

Core #0: 96c
Core #1: 77c
Core #2: 94c
Core #3: 76c

This definitely isnt normal, what do you think I should do? Im worried my cpu might get fried...

Well I'm not that surprised-you're running a stress test on a laptop, a device that generally gets hot due to restrictive airflow. It will get hot. I wouldn't worry about it unless normal loads such as gaming result in these temps as well. You could always try a cooling pad to bring the temps down a tad.
