AMD A10 6700
Windows 8.1
No Temp option in Bios
Ok, this took me forever to write...keep getting this "Maximize your chances of being answered" popup.
Anyway, I currently have three Temp/Monitor programs running. HWMonitor, AIDA64 Extreme, and Core Temp 1.7
HWMonitor is reporting my AMD A10 6700 Temperature Package (it does not show individual core readings) anywhere between 54 C and 64C for IDLE. But I've seen it shoot past 100C, just from loading a program!
AIDA64 Exrteme & Core Temp are the other extreme. They are BOTH reporting core temps as low as 5C, sometimes even lower! (Although Core Temp does have a Max reading of 46C...never seen anything close to that with these two programs). The readings are identical between these two, BTW.
So right now, just for fun, I loaded Photoshop. AIDA64 shot up to 21C and HWMonitor shot up near 80C. Aida64 has now gone back down to 5C and HWMonitor back to 54C.
At first I was going to ask...which one is accurate? But I think it's safe to say that either HWMonitor is wrong or ALL of them are wrong. I mean, if my PC really shot up over 100C, I think it would be game over. I've been using this PC on and off for 3 years and it's never given me problems.
So I think the question that needs to be asked is if it's realistic for an AMD A10 6700 to idle so low?
