Hydro bearing fan making a grinding noise

The fan in my Asus G20AJ has started making grinding sounds recently, are the bearings done for or do I just need to clean it?

If it's the bearings, then no. Hydro bearings float in an oil bath and if the oil leaks out there's just no oil--nothing to "clean."
