I bought Hynix djr ddr4 ram from G.Skill rated at 3600 C16. It won't run on my system at that speed without crashing . I have an Asrock B450M Pro4 motherboard and a Ryzen 2600x. I knew when I bought the ram it might not work at that frequency but I figured I could lower the frequency until it worked. Using Dram calculator I found it will run at 3400 C14 with somewhat loose sub timings and that may actually outperform 3600 c16. However. It requires a voltage between 1.43min and 1.45max. My motherboard doesn't allow such small voltage increments so it's 1.40v or 1.45v. I've read some conflicting posts online about using a voltage as high as 1.45v and I was wondering what other's thought about it. I can drop the frequency to 3333 which lowers the voltage requirements to 1.40v but if 1.45v isn't as bad as some would make it out to be, I'd like to stay at 3400.

Thanks,

Bob

I'd say you're taking a chance. Some sticks can run fine at 1.45v and others not.
If you want to try it, first thing i would do is boot directly into a Memtest86 boot USB to check for errors. Go through one pass to put the memory through some stresses to see if it's good. Do the sticks of memory have good airflow?
