I'm running my Kingston Predator (HX430C15PB3K2/32) memory at standard 3000 mhz profile. Timings are 15-17-17-36 2T. Voltage is 1.35.

  1. Should I go into overclocking and is it even worth trying?
  2. Also, what RTL and IOL settings should I try?
  3. Will I even see the difference in performance?

I'm running intel x99 asus system with 6850k.

Not worth it. I'm amazed you got 3000mhz to work on X99.

3000mhz is already pretty high for that platform, I'd be happy with what you got. Plus, Intel doesn't benefit that much from super tight timings (there are exceptions of course but they're rare).

I'm not even pushing the vccsa for that 3000 mhz, there's plenty of room for it so far. I am sure I can tighten the timings and go for something like 3200.
The MC is weak but using 125 strap for high freq ram is needed and works perfect.

I guess I should go quad channel if I want any sustainable performance gains..
