I have:
i7 5930k ; This chip has 40 channels, 6 cores, and hyperlink turns those cores into 12 virtual cores.
X99s SLI PLUS. This board has two pci-e 16 slots and one pci-e 8 slot. That is if the cpu can support all the channels.
I believe when I use the chip with the hyperlink enabled I get the 40 usable channels the chip has available. What happens, if anything to the channels if I disable hyperlink for the CPU. Do I loose any of the available channels. Do I keep the two pci-e 16 slots and one pci-e 8 slot or do the pci-e slots start running in pci-e 8 now.
I use this cpu because it has enough channels to support two 16 and one 8 pci-e slots. Otherwise I would use the i7 5820K cpu that has 28 channels.
My computer:
CPU: i7 5930K
Mother board: X99S SLI PLUS
RAM: 4 sticks of 4gb. 2400 Hz.
GPU (three of them): Radeon R9 290X
Monitors (Three): BenQXL270T 27" set to 5760 X 1080 res.
