Hyperx cloud 2 mic quality question

Should I keep using the usb adapter that comes with the Hyperx cloud 2 or buy a 3.5 splitter. I just want to have better mic quality. I have an Asus z97-a board and I dont know if plugging the mic into the board is worst than the adapter. Please help.

In general the Cloud II mic sounds better through the USB soundcard.
If that quality is not up to your standards, consider a modmic.
