The Title says it all, I'm choosing between 16gb of DDR4 HyperX Fury 2666mhz ram or 16gb of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3000mhz. They are both the same price although the Corsair rams looks significantly better than the HyperX, but I dont want to tank my perfrmance just for some RGB lights. Reccomendations?

Build:
B350 Tomahawk
Ryzen 3 1300X
Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti (x2)
Thermaltake 500w
SSD and Hard Drive that doesnt matter, Gig wireless

Normally I would say get the one with the best timings and you can adjust the speed up some yourself, but from all I have read as Gam3r01 said, Ryzen gets large performance boots from fastest ram you can afford.
Also, as mentioned you can't SLI those IIRC

To add to what others have said about the faster RAM by Mhz, CL latency is also very important. The CL latency tends to increase as the RAM speed does. Now, this might still make a 3000Mhz kit faster than a 2666Mhz kit or it may not.

Check out ddr4 3000 geil evo spear. This stuff has amazing reviews and is made specifically to run well eith ryzen. If you want rgb geil has other ryzen ram. 8gbx2 of evo spear cost 139.99$ and 8gbx2 of geil rgb cost 159$

I just bought the evo spear, you need an Asus mobo to use rgb on the more expensive one and I have msi..

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Geil/EVO_Spear/

They have other more expensive models with lower timings, this one is cas 16.. of your 2 choices get the 3k.

My system is very similar to yours:

B350 Tomahawk
Ryzen 5 1600
EVGA GeForce GTX 750ti
G.Skill Aegis 16GB 2 x 8GB DDR4-2400
Intel 545s 256GB 3D TLC NAND SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5" Internal SSD
Toshiba P300 1TB 7200RPM SATA III 6Gb/s 3.5" OEM Internal Hard Drive
LEPA N500-SA Power Supply - 500W

I have been eyeballing this for a memory upgrade:

G.Skill Ripjaw V 16GB 2 x 8GB DDR4-3600
http://www.microcenter.com/product/507410/ripjaw-v-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr4-3600-pc4-28800-cl19-dual-channel-desktop-memory-kit---red

RGB Memory is cool but costs more especially when you start looking at speeds.
The 1st gen Ryzen really prefers faster memory so I would go with the fastest memory you can get in your price range.

Hey Crowlwi. I have the Ryzen 1800x and I paired it with 16gb of the Corsair Vengeance RGB 3000mhz.. it runs really well for what I need it for, and immediately ran at 3000mhz without needing to change settings in BIOS.

I just finished my build that comprises of Ryzen 7 1700 paired with B450. I went with the Team Delta RGB DDR 4 2400 MHZ Timing 15 17 17 35.

In my opinion you should opt for something like 2400 MHZ or 2666 and dont go higher as all motherboards like mine or b350 series support DDR4 upto 3600 MHZ. Just pay less and over clock it to get extra performance

My sticks are overclocked to 3200 MHZ that too at the XMP profile settings without changing timings. I even lower the voltage from 1.35 to 1.25 AND it runs great.

GO for lower speed and overclock it. This could save you some money that you can invest elsewhere.

Someone mentioned lower speed and oc, but 2400 and 3k cost basically the same right now. Sure, I guess if you are saving like 25$+ it could be worth it .
If you look at benchmarks the difference between them all is really nothing life changing. I would only do this if you are saving a nice bit of $$, if not go with 3k
