I’m afraid to turn on xmp please help

I just built my pc, I have an i5 8400 with stock cooler, b360 motherboard, 8gb of vengeance ram, and gtx 1070, should I enable xmp or no ? And is it safe

xmp stands for extreme memory profile. the most this should do is make your ram run at it designed speed such as 2666 or 3000mhz rather than 2133 or 2400. yes it is completely safe. you almost definitely will not encounter any problems.
