i am confused

people are giving me mixed messages about the Samsung SyncMaster 960BF some say its great for gaming and others tell me there lots of ghosting and so on. i need some advise on this mointor
i want to use it for everything not just gaming and i will be connected dvi to a 7800gt

See my previous post for some of my first impressions (I bought two a few weeks ago).

Both are connected in DVI to a 6800, and I love the picture quality. I also use them for everything, not just gaming.

For most uses there is no ghosting, but as it is an Overdrive panel (to get the fake 4ms response time) there is what I call "reverse ghosting". More specifically, transitions from black to white are perfect, but transitions from black to grey will ghost a bit since the monitor overshoots the brightness for a few ms. However in practice it's a lot less annoying than the traditionnal ghosting of slow panels (>16ms...).

Overall I'm very satisfied with this monitor, it's not perfect but for the price it's hard to beat (I paid $560 CDN each). Plus the pivot feature is awesome.

Of course the best thing to do is to buy it somewhere you can return it if you're not happy with it (Best Buy, etc). Try it at home with your setup and see for yourself...
