I am in the market for a new desktop, primarily for storing pictures prior to moving to an external drive

I am in the market for a new desktop. It will need to store pictures (temporarily until they are moved to external hard drive) and run a few video games that my husband plays (age of empires, nothing fancy!). I know I don't need anything top of the line, but I want something that is good quality that will last. We do all of our work on our work laptops, so this will be for personal use. Any advice to help me narrow things down or point me in the right direction would be most helpful. Thanks!

Just an FYI - you do not want to ever have only 1 copy of your pictures. I hope you have them stored on more than just 1 device because when that device breaks, and its only a matter of time, you will lose them all.

I have 5 copies of my family pics (down from 7 LoL) with one copy being on dvd's and stored in my sisters basement in case my house burns down.
