my rig I'm building is this
CPU: AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5GHz
MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3P
HARD DRIVE: Western Digital Blue WD2500AAJS
CASE: Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
I am still shopping power supplies and graphics cards any help would be appreciated.
If possible i would like to run skyrim at least 60fps on high settings.
also i don't plan on overclocking. don't know if that matters i still new to building pc's.

Whats your budget? I would get an R9 280 or R9 280x, if I could afford that. But if you are struggling, then go with the GTX 750 ti. Its dirt cheap, but you can play some older games on max.

I am running an R9 270 and skyrim runs in Ultra settings at 50-60 fps. However, I have a little bit of a bottleneck with my CPU (Core2 Quad Q9650). It doesn't quite meet benchmarks of the R9 270 in the 3DMark tests because of the processor. This should be enough graphics card to get you what you want. The 750ti is cheaper and very power efficient so you could get a less expensive power supply and save a bit of money, but isn't quite as good as the R9 270. If you could afford it, I think the R9 280(x) or the 960 would fit your setup nicely.

The 280 is extremely good for it's price (also cheaper and more powerful than the gtx 960). So you might as well if you want some extra power. But I do agree that maybe he could get the 270 if he feels like it, just because it is cheaper.

Skyrim also likes high cpu clocks. A little OC on your cpu will help.
Get a good brand/model PSU 550-600 watts.
The 280 or 280x will play the game very well. The 960 would also be a good choice.

The 280x being the strongest and best of those.
The 270x would work fine as well.
