I am on a tight budget and I wish to buy a lg 22MP68VQ, an ips 75hz freesync but will it gsync?

G-sync only works with display ports, freesync works with both HDMI and display ports, is there a chance we'll be able to use G-sync on a freesync monitor via HDMI cable connected to an NVidia gpu?

From what I’ve heard no it won’t work. But that’s only from one or two sites I read up on g sync today, further research may be required for a definite answer.
