NEWBIE here...
I'm assuming this is possible:

I would like to take a stock image (crest with banner & text saved in AI) and keep & enlarge some of it, and add other parts, etc.

When I open the 1st image, it appears the only thing I can do with the selection tool is change the proportion and size.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks for your help!

Did you mean to say when "I first open the image"?

"1st image", to me anyway, indicates that there are additional images; 2nd, 3rd,... and so forth.

And on those images you are able to do additional editing ? Not sure.

What edition and version of Adobe Illustrator (AI) are you using? Source?

Stock image(s) - source?

My overall thought being that you may have encountered some copyright protection.

Thx. I discovered on the Adobe forum that the AI& EPS files need to be "filtered" to vector and/or Standard Content to be able to manipulate. FYI, Jpegs are useless.
