500Mbit is a good speed for a 5Ghz 80Mhz channel width WIFI connection.
That says what you are paying for. That doesn't say what network hardware you have or how it is configured.Sorry my fault
BT Unbreakable Gigabit
Unless you are out to post bragging numbers on social media about how fast your wifi is, your speed is more than good enough.
Just don't get sucked into the marketing. A huge amount of social media is people trying to get money by making advertising look like something else.Far from it, it is about 20 years since I built a computer and what I have learned during the past four weeks especially with the help here has amazed me, however different sites, chat, facebook videos are all totally different on what to expect and according to some facebook influencers (I take everything with a pinch of salt) my system could be much faster.

What's your router and wifi adapter spec? Do you have line of sight? how far is it? are you sure you don't have any environment noise interference?
Fact is almost no one gets the speed that's printed on the box.
how much do you get by ethernet cable connected to the fiber gateway?
