The motherboard is a HP MS-7826. An LGA1150 motherboard. I looked around for a good LGA 1150 Processor and decided on said i5. The issue is, the motherboard is Z87, and not Z97. I can't find a BIOS update anywhere on HP's site. Is it worth trying anyway or do I need a new motherboard?

The motherboard page on HP's site lists the supported processors and the 4460 isnt there. (http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03748942 processor upgrade information) Going to try it anyways when the processor gets here. Will keep you posted.
Thanks!

Got the processor, only there's an issue. The stock cooler wont fit in the holes for the push pins. This is because of the bracket on the back from the previous cooler which was liquid.
(Sorry for the blurry pictures)

How would I go about removing it? It looks as though the only way it's attached is via 3 weird screws directly on the socket.

Looks like nut and bolt.If i could get a closer and clearer view i might be able to check

Happy to oblige.
