I bought G29 Logitech Weel (need help)

So I'm noob with wheels but I wanted long-term buy. So basically what I noticed is that when i turn right I can feel a bit grumpy feeling, while on left it's completely smooth. With that grumpy feeling (its not smooth completely) I hear sound a bit louder then on left side.

That is happening while i'm not in game so I would expect that it's same on both sides. Am I wrong perhaps ?

I have the older version of this wheel, the G27. It should not be making any louder sound on one side vs. the other or feel different turning it one way or another. Did you download and install the wheel calibration utility (Logitech Profiler) and run through the calibration settings?

Also, what games are you playing with it? Did you try running the any in-game wheel calibration setup like Project Cars has?

I just tried ETS2 and F1 2015. I will download that and try. Also since i'm noob, i find forcefeedback pretty weird ! Can i break something in wheel if I turn hard against forceback ? It's obvious that works properly, i cant turn easily when i'm speeding but if i try harder i actually can. So just making sure that i dont break something.

That wheel is gear driven and will last you many years. I have thousands of hours on my G27 between a PS3 and PC since I bought it in 2008. Last year I upgraded to a Thrustmaster T300RS wheel (which is belt driven and smoother) so I could play a wheel on both my new PS4 and PC.

If it bothers you that much, turn down the FFB settings in either the Logitech Profiler or the game (can't remember if there is an option for that in the Logitech Profiler though...there is in Thrustmaster's Profiler as "Overall Strength of all Settings". In any event, you'll get used to it! I also have ETS2 and love it....lots of cool mods for that sim too.

I do have logitech gaming software but i cant find calibrating settings there. Once when I turn PC on my wheel is going left and right with lights on, but it's never centered, like 1cm on the right usually once when that stop. Not sure if there are other settings outside of the game.

Do you have your switch set to PS4 instead of PS3 for PC operation? I have the same switch on my T300 except that for PC my wheel needs to be on PS3 instead of PS4. I constantly need to remember switching it when moving between platforms.

Apparently g29 is "advanced" version of g25/g27 which means it's great for racing. So when I'm racing f1 2015/ Dirt Rally or Project Cars it's great. But unfortunately when I'm playing ETS2/ATS or other simulation games through city it doesn't feel smooth because you are making tiny moves while in races you are usually spinning like crazy. It's nature of g29 unfortunately. For simulations (not racing) I think that g27 is better option.

I tried it on the drive club game and when the wheel vibration is on, the wheel makes a terrible noise. Is yours the same?

Also if I turn left and right very quickly there is a click every time is do it..

Huh...the G29 has exact same internals (two motors, helical gears) as the G27, so I'm not sure where that info came from. Also I used my old G27 on ETS2 and never had any jerkiness....but it's been so long I can't remember what settings I messed around with between Logitech's desktop profiler software and in the game itself.

G27 have destkop profiler software, g29 doesn't. They are not identical completely. Also that "1mm" force and not being complete smooth when you turn wheel with one hand without using too much force is good for racing as I mentioned, but in ETS2 it's not 100% enjoyable since you are trying to balance your truck in one track for like 10 minutes on highway and even with FFB turned off you feel not so fluid turning, yet as soon as you try to do 90 degree turn it's completely fine because you use more force and more pressure with hands on wheel. Tested 3 models so far.

I suspected it was software related but was not aware there was no desktop profiler for the 29/920. That's a huge miss by Logitech, who just a few years ago claimed they were getting out of the gaming peripheral device business altogether. Seems to me with that decision it means that they were targeting the wheels for the consoles first and PCs as secondary afterthought.

But hardware wise, according to a review I read last fall that included a tear-down, the 27 and 29/920 share the same internal components. That's all I was referring to. The only difference of course being the rim itself. I wonder if someone will step up and crack the 27 profiler software to make it compatible with the new wheels.

As I did with the G27, I use the desktop profiler for my T300 as the primary settings (degrees rotation, FFB feel, etc.) and then scale those settings up or down in the game itself depending on the type of car I'm racing. Saving different desktop profiler settings depending on the game is a huge plus too. Very disappointing to hear.

Agree.. you can change degree limit and sensitivity..so profiles are kinda pointless even though there is not a single profile provided by logitech directly except for Project Cars from latest games.. Sad.
