I broke windows 8 or my cpu! Help!

I dont know what happened. So lets start off by me cleaning my case with compressed air, wiping down my cpu with 70%alcohol and the cooler fan that comes with intel and applying new thermal paste. My pc went from 70 to 40 celsius! Great!

Now the bad part, i left my computer On for 3 hours while shopping and i come back to a black screen, i try to boot it up and get windows auto repair and a bunch of errors. Every 1/4 times it restarts but wont open any programs(except windows defender which i ran and windows control panel). Nothing new was downloaded besides a LOL update and steam update.

So if i blast the f*8 key it rarely opens advanced options on start up, the computer errors on safemode start up. It wont complete a repair and i get errors such as critial process died, system service exception, oxc0000145, system thread exception not handled. Whatre my options here? Is it hardware!? Because it seems fine is it a virus? Random windows corruption?

It seems to me nothing is wrong with the computer, but with the Operating System itself. In advanced startup, have you tried a restore point? You already know how to get to advanced startup so than just click Toubleshoot/Advanced Options/System Restore. By choosing a recent restore point (if you have one) you hopefully will have a repaired windows 8. This WILL NOT delete files although it MAY undo recent program installs. I'm not sure about gamess but theres a good possibility.
