I Can No Longer Hold Out For a New Graphics Card! 970 or Wait for 1070?

I have an old Radeon 6870 and it is 99% most all of the time. I just built a new Skylake system with a 6700k. If I don't get a card soon I will scream. I have held off upgrading for a long time because I knew the new cards were coming. I want an Nvidia this time. Should I buy a discounted 970 or should I wait for the 1070 to be available? The 970s are selling for around $300 and I haven't found a 1070 for less than $450. I don't want a FE card. What do you think? Thanks.

What is a FE card?

Look for a GTX980ti; prices have dropped. Performance is similar to GTX1070.

If you are looking at a 970 I wold not, get the Radeon 480 when that comes out, or get the 1070 in a bit when the availability is better and prices go to regular selling prices. Or get a 980 or 980 Ti on sale.

I reserved an EVGA 1070 for $439. Is this too much or will that be the regular price?

That's not bad considering sometimes they resell for 600-1000 dollars and higher. Your lucky you could even manage to preorder one.
