So ever since I built my computer I have only been able to log into temporary profiles. When I try to log into the profile I created on startup, it tells me that I cannot currently log into that account and signs me into a temp one. I have tried restarting several times and this does not help.

After googling the issue I have found many threads suggesting to mess with profile keys on the profile list in regedit. This is where I believe the issue is. It appears I do not have a key in my profile list that refers to my actual profile. The only two keys I have are one referencing the temp account and one referencing the admin account I enabled to troubleshoot.

I was hoping someone here might be able to assist. Please let me know if you need any further details.

I would just clean install windows 10 again. If this has happened since you created PC you can't have achieved much or installed a lot so a clean install could fix this. I would set up a local account during the process as it could also be the roaming profile on MS servers is messed up, and making a local account will stop it syncing any incorrect settings.

is there anything on C drive you want to rescue? try making this on another PC: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu-live-cd-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-windows-computer/
Also, on another PC, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB - unless you already have a new one, as at least a new copy has latest...

check your password and everything is right here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/4026838/microsoft-account-to-change-your-microsoft-account-password

change boot order in BIOS so USB is first, hdd second
boot from installer
follow this guide: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-windows-10-clean-install.html

when you reach the screen asking for licence, click "I don't have a key" and win 10 will continue to install and reactivate once finished

On the screen where you choose where to install win 10, if it gives you an error about GPT drives, delete all the partitions on the hdd and press next. If it still gives error, cancel out of the installer and restart PC and start installer again, it will accept next on that screen this time (some PC just need a restart here)

my original profile got messed up so I am using a local user myself, it also means cortana doesn't fully work which I find is a bonus. I could link her to my account but I don't use her anyway.
