When I upgraded my pc last year I bought a ga 990fxa ud5, I got an amazing deal at only $100.. However no matter how much time I spend in google I cannot find any way to get a speaker fill option. There is dolby software as well as realtek, but the only interaction with dolby I have is an on off switch. I have had some type of dolby suite installed at one point, it also didn't have a speaker fill option.

i was about to paste a youtube link till I recognized your comment so i'll skip that... (or maybe somebody with similar specs)
:)

is the mobo advertising the speaker fill option?
if yes, then are you having latest drivers?
re-check on the manufacturer site, based on your model and operating system & version (32 or 64)

another option - maybe the feature was removed when newer driver released...

I think I have just given the box away when I sold my old mobo. If I remeber right it will do speaker fill with all the sound stuff unistalled, but then I dont have the option to set up my outputs. I'll go ahead and check that. Ultimately I know my 775 socket mobo with realtek had the option so I have always assume this hardware should be able to support it. Maybe I have missed something? The latest drivers don't include the option either 🙁. Thanks for your Reply!

"Speaker Fill creates a virtual environment for playback of stereo audio sources on surround speaker systems."
So you're just looking for a virtual surround. (Personally, I use a surround sound receiver for all virtual surround.)

Seems to be in the software labeled "Realtek HD Audio Manager"
Try downloading the drivers from Realtek. If that's what you did then try downloading them from Gigabyte.

Well I tend to have my audio put together out of pieces, mostly random. Right now I'm trying to play sound to my tv through 3.5mm and also to a subwoofer through 3.5mm so I get a bit of bass. Speaker fill is what allows the sub to be active when watching a tv show thats playing back stereo, or while listening to music in itunes. It also will solve the issue that I have to have 5.1 checked and only have 3 speakers by putting all the sounds through whats attached as appropriately as possible. That was my experience on the old board anyway.
