Hey guys
Im not sure if I should post this in the drivers thread or here.
anyways , my sister has an acer aspire one d255 with a dual core intel atom processor. Today I installed windows 7 ultimate edition over the windows 7 starter. But now I cant change the resolution on it . Its stuck on 800x600. In starters edition it was 1024x768. The drop down for the resolution in the screen resolution window is gray ( meaning it cant be clicked. The screen is shown as a generic pnp. I used a usb drive to install the windows.
Thanks.

Not sure if you have resolved this issue or not but I was having the same issue with the MSI U180.
After 2 days of searching, I finally found out that it uses an Intel Graphics chip. My driver (and various other models of MSI notebook) are available from here.... http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-023086.htm?wapkw=gma+3650&_ga=1.172995939.1330599947.1418378779

If you can't find the right driver from this page, there is a driver update utility available. Simply download and install it and then let it find the correct driver for you setup (or search for it manually from the Intel site). I hope this helps :)

Hi,
It is partially resolved.

I purchased a new GTX 970 graphics card.

But I ran into a problem. I wasn't able to install the graphics drivers for the new graphics card.
Every time I tried the update it would go to black screen after that first restart of windows. Then I would recover the system. In the course of Windows start-up repair, the new Geforce driver would be overwritten with the generic VGA display adapter. I tried everything including reinstalling the OS. Finally, I reflashed the BIOS.

When I rebooted after the updated BIOS, I noticed the monitor looked different (better resolved). So thinking I was making progress, I went to the Device Manager and checked the Display Adapter.

Every time before it had displayed two adapters. It had listed the Intel HD 4000 and the new graphics card. But after the BIOS update it only listed the graphics card.

The graphics card is functioning, and the monitor resolution is much improved. But I am getting some errors, so I may have to reinstall the HD 4000 driver. Hopefully, it will not result in the earlier problems with the graphics card.
