Can you open Control Panel?
(Winkey plus X) and choose from list.
Open 'View Devices and Printers'
If your printer is shown, Rt Click on it and select it as Default.
You hould also see Uninstall Programs in Control Panel

SO GOTO YOUR MANUFRACTURER WEBSITE AND DOWNLOAD DRIVERS FOR WINDOWS 8
ALSO YOU CAN TRY TROUBLESHOOT IN CONTROL PANEL>VIEW PRINTERS AND DEVICES
