Hello,
With my friend we wanted to create a minecraft server, because i have the best connection and pc of all my friend they ask me to create the server so i do the proper things to create the server ( download the minecraft server, create the .bat file, enter true in the eula file, open the port of my box for my desktop etc...) And it work well but because i have a laptop and a desktop (both with an i7 and 16Go of ram) i say to myself that i could run the server on my laptop with more ram allocate than for my desktop (because the desktop have to run the server and minecraft) so that i can run minecraft on my desktop with it's full power and run the server with a dedicated i7 and most of the ram of the laptop. But the issue here is that the server work well with my friend when i run it on the desktop but it don't work at all when i run it my laptop accept in localhost. Maybe it's because it isn't connect with an RJ45 but i've tried and that don't work to (and by the way the port are open for my laptop when i want to run it on the laptop)
So i don't really know what's wrong....
Thanks by the way to have read this and if you could help me that i will be very happy :)

Max

(Excuse me for the grammar mistake if there is some i'am from france)

Bonjour Max, how you connect to your network does not matter (WiFi or Ethernet).

You know the IP address of your laptop? From the desktop try to ping your laptop (from a command prompt do "ping x.x.x.x" with x.x being the laptop IP address). Does it work?

If no ... I need to know a little more about your network. How many routers/modems (boxes) do you have? Do you have a seperate one for WiFi?
If yes ... then try again to log into your minecraft server from your desktop. Does it work?

If no ... turn off the windows firewall and try again.
If yes ... double check your port forwarding.

Let us know.
