Ok this has got my stumped, why the hell can't I enable XMP with this ram when it is on the QVL for my MOBO? Now please note in terms of testing I have tried the following. Tested with a 5600x, 5700x,5800x3D (current cpu) and still won't boot with xmp enabled. I have also tried changing the RAM to AORUS RGB Memory DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) 4400 and still no go. I have tried with 2x sticks and 4 sticks installed and no luck. I have tried enabling the profiles and manually adjusting timings and clocks etc, The best I have been able to do is 3600mhz with terrible timings because it will just crash when I play a game for more than 5 minutes. If anyone has any information that can help I would greatly apricate it, I am out of options and I am left thinking it is my MOBO that is stuffed?

i might be blind, but patriot or aorus 4400 isnt listed in QVL list for your mainboard and four sticks support ends at 3866 on your mainboard

I am pretty sure I seen it on there, both of them are, but they are lower supported speeds like 3200 - 3866. What I find weird is that my brother has a similar build, and he was able to get xmp 4400 to work on his build, but he is using 2 sticks of aorus memory with a 5700x he lent me his ram and his cpu for testing and I cant even get the xmp to work. So i think the next question I need to ask is, dose memory need to be on the QVL in order to achieve the rated xmp the RAM has to offer even though my mobo supports up to 4400mhz+. Because looking at the QVL the only memory that can achive 4400 on my board is BALLISTIX brand and I have seen countless videos of people using dominators or patriots and achieving the xmp on my cpu.

I'm confused I swear amd is docp Intel is xmp so there might be your issue, why you have xmp not docp option makes me wander

ram package shouldnt mater much, ram IC matters more i guess, its about samsung B die or micron E die, which can get high clocks on ryzen, those can get up to 4000-4400 depends on memory controller quality and firmware compatibility

memory QVL by itself just showcases some ram modules which confirms that mainboard is able to work with high frequency modules
ram manufactures doesnt use same ram ICs on same models, they put there whats available during manufacturing and passes internal QC, theyll just slap different revision on sticker and call that a day
so QVL may showcase samsung b die, while you may have purchased it with different die

every ram is overclockable, if XMP profile doesnt work, then you will need to go with manual overclocking
