I BELIEVE I HAVE ACTUALLY SOLVED IT! I turned up my memory speed from 2133mhz to 2400mhz.

Before: Avg: 72.341 - Min: 50 - Max: 96
After: Avg: 81.940 - Min: 57 - Max: 110

I will give further updates just in case this is not the definite solution.

LETS REJOICE

Are you talking about CPU or RAM?

Have you checked your FPS in other games? Far Cry 5 is a new game and isn't fully optimized yet. I've seen several other users seeing 1080p scaliing with Far Cry 5 not very well. What is ur FPS in other games?

I've only really had problems in Far Cry 5, in others I'm fine.

well than I wouldn't be too concerned. in 1080p in 1080 TI , I saw similar FPS to that of 1440p, which is not very common. Most games there is a high FPS in 1080, but this one is weird

Do you have SSD drive? Have you tried installing and running the game from it? How do you monitor your framerates? When you have drops to 40 fps is it momentary or longer than 3-4 seconds? You can install "MSI Afterburner" and monitor your CPU, GPU load and temperatures during frame drops and see what is causing it. If you lower game settings to medium do you have the same drops?
